The objective of the precaseismic project was to study the behaviour of the bond-slip connection of concrete rebars on precast structures under seismic actions. An LS-DYNA model of a reinforcement steel bar (rebar) bounded to a circular concrete slab was developed and calibrated against a laboratory experiment. Concrete was modelled with a nonlinear behaviour material law and the rebar shear failure and compactation (cap) surfaces were blended together to form a smooth and continuous connection.
