Education

2018 – PhD in civil engineering

I have been awarded a PhD in civil engineering by the University of Warwick (UK), which was concluded in February 2018. Thesis reviewers: Dr Stana Zivanovic and Professor Keith Worden.

2010 – MSc in Civil Engineering

MSc in Civil Engineering at the Nova, University of Lisbon, Portugal. This is a two year master degree, combined with a three year B.Sc. During this period I have participated in the Erasmus program at Roma La Sapienza University, Italy.

2008/2009 – Erasmus Programme

During my masters, I have participated during one semester in the Erasmus Programme at the Sapienza, University of Rome (Italy). During this transfer activity, I have been involved in three core-modules: theory and project of bridges; nonlinear structural analysis; and repair and rehabilitation of structures. The modules were completed (nonlinear structural analysis with distinction) and I have earned an ERASMUS scholarship grant.

Other certifications

In addition to the above information, I participated on a number of courses/workshops: circuits and electronics, finite element modelling, high performance computing, 3D printing, etc.

2019 Lecturer in Civil and Structural Engineering

In August 2019 I have been appointed as a Lecturer in Civil and Structural Engineering by the University of the West of England. More information can be found in the “teaching experience” page.

2010/2014 Research assistant

After finishing my Master I’ve worked as a research assistant in a number of research projects (see Table below), namely a high-speed trains project named “Smartrack”. More details can be found in the projects page.
